Limits on cigarette marketing have long been in place in most parts of the world, and now, in an effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the Netherlands city of Haarlem has enacted a ban on animal-person meat ads in public spaces that goes into effect in 2024. Adfree Cities, a United Kingdom group that is working to end corporate outdoor advertising in the UK, has an “End Meat Advertising” campaign that is calling for a halt on ads for animal-person meat, dairy products, and eggs. The group recently released the report “The Cows Aren’t Laughing,” exposing the cruel, destructive reality behind animal-person-based products, which overwhelmingly come from animal-person- raising factories. The report further states that these associated industries saturate public spaces with ads that normalize the consumption of animal-person-based products, which are harmful to people and the planet.

Our gratitude, Haarlem and Adfree Cities, for applaudable efforts. May we swiftly see an end to animal-person-meat-based products as human compassion and enlightenment grow, in Heaven’s grace.
