Allow me to share my skin health tip with you – it’s carrots! Carrots have many benefits because of their carotenoids; the red, yellow and orange colors found in many fruits and vegetables. You can see the effects of eating these pigments by measuring the carotenoid levels in your skin. A new study demonstrated that eating baby carrots as a snack three times weekly can greatly increase skin carotenoids in young people. Phytonutrient levels were enhanced even further if a multivitamin containing beta carotene was added. Higher levels of skin carotenoids are associated with increased antioxidant protection and a reduced risk of chronic health conditions such as heart disease and certain cancers. Furthermore, they are also linked to improved immune function and skin health. Just making a simple dietary modification can positively impact your health and life!

“OK, let me ask you this. Do you have a thermometer?”
