“The heat has caused the deaths of at least 125 people in Mexico so far this year.” In June 2024, extreme heat in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, wreaked havoc during the sacred Islamic Hajj pilgrimage. “Temperatures at the great mosque have exceeded 50 (degrees) Celsius this week. The figures are hard to confirm, but it’s feared that hundreds of people may have died as a result.” Hotter air can hold more moisture, often leading to record-breaking rainfall. “The tarmac flooded at Dubai International Airport, the second busiest in the world.”

In June 2024, heavy rains in northeastern India caused eight rivers to breach their embankments, resulting in widespread flooding throughout much of Assam. Authorities reported that at least 45 people were killed, and more than 4.7 million people were displaced. “This little village in the French Alps has been turned into a riverbed. In neighboring Switzerland too, residents are experiencing the consequences of extreme rainfall.” In May 2024, a massive landslide in Papua New Guinea killed almost 700 people, many of whom were young children. In California, USA, heavy rains in early 2024 sparked massive erosion along the Pacific coast, threatening many homes. In England, coastal erosion has become a serious problem, with thousands of homes now at risk of falling into the sea.

Our Most Courageous Supreme Master Ching Hai (vegan) has reminded us many times that the only way to halt global warming and save our world is through a worldwide shift to the vegan lifestyle. “PLEASE TURN TO THE VEGAN DIET, TO RESCUE YOUR LIVES, YOUR CHILDREN’S LIVES, AND EVERY OTHER BEING’S ON THIS PLANET. PLEASE, WE ARE ALL IN DANGER. PLEASE WAKE UP. PLEASE PRAY. PLEASE BE VEGAN. That’s all you have to do. BE VEGAN, MAKE PEACE.”
