In Part 1, Christophe Marie, the deputy director of the BBF, shared some of the remarkable achievements of Ms. Bardot and the Foundation. On today’s program, he tells us more about this inspirational organization. “We save so many farm animals that we don’t necessarily have the capacity to accept them on our own sites. So, we have developed something unique, in any case in France, which is to set up a partnership with former livestock farmers, sometimes the sons of the farmer who don’t necessarily want to go into livestock farming, but who have pastures and buildings. What is interesting is that, on the one hand, this prevents animals from being bred to end up in the slaughterhouse and, on the other hand, it allows us to save other animals and to place them in a boarding facility, in situations, obviously, that we control and that are perfectly good for the animals taken in.” Mr. Marie states that France is now making giant strides in protecting the lives of animal-people. “With the announcements made by the Minister of Ecology to stop the farming of mink for fur, to stop using wild animals in circuses, to stop and ban cetaceans in dolphinariums, it sets a precedent!” Ms. Bardot has now devoted 60 years of her life to protecting animal-people, and even today, continues with her work. Her Foundation is currently involved in rescuing Ukrainian animal-people in need as a result of Russia’s brutal attack on this nation. Mr. Marie reminds us that today’s successes in animal-people protection are due, in part, to the brave pioneers such as Brigitte Bardot. Our most gracious Supreme Master Ching Hai reminds us that there is only one way to truly protect the lives of all animal-people, that is a global shift to the compassionate vegan lifestyle. “Being vegan simply means that we protect all the animal-people. This killing of other beings must be stopped for humanity to evolve as a civilization. The benefits of doing so are manifold. Besides the restoration of health, biodiversity will be allowed to thrive, planet equilibrium restored, along with the easing of our own conscience and our capacity for elevated consciousness. All these are the fruits of a more compassionate diet.”
