For almost three decades, world leaders have been meeting annually to discuss the actions needed to halt climate change. However, despite all their so-called decisions, little progress has been made. Emissions of all three primary greenhouse gasses, CO2, methane, and nitrous oxide, continue to rise and are now at their highest levels in millions of years. And Earth’s citizens are becoming increasingly worried.

Thus, in November 2021, while the COP-26 climate change conference was taking place, citizens worldwide participated in an international event called the “Global Day of Action for Climate Justice.” From Sydney to Paris to Istanbul, tens of thousands of people took to the streets of their cities, participating in one of the more than 250 rallies around the world. However, by far, the largest rally took place in Glasgow, where COP-26 was being held. “The only thing that seems to shift anything, whether it's public opinion or it’s what governments do, is people, people power. They (leaders) wouldn't be making the gestures they are making if it weren't for all the protests around the world. So, we’ve got to keep that momentum up.”

The year 2022 was fraught with many weather-related catastrophes caused by climate change. Consequently, in November 2022, as the COP-27 climate change conference approached, concerned citizens from around the world gathered in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. They hoped to hold public rallies asking government leaders to halt global warming. When the media interviewed our Association members, they had the opportunity to share the scientific evidence showing the direct link between raising animal-people livestock and climate change. They explained that, according to some reports, raising animal-people livestock is responsible for as much as 87% of global warming, adding that the only way to stop climate change is through a global shift to a plant-based lifestyle.
