In today’s news, International Organization for Migration provides humanitarian aid to communities in Kharkiv region of Ukraine (Ureign), recent study notes COVID-19 variants increasingly escaping immunity, Egypt to export solar energy to Europe via massive new undersea cable, Australian researchers grow nutritious native rice to support indigenous communities, junior cross-country runner in New York, United States, stops to support his competitor in kind act of sportsmanship, Swiss chocolate company releases new vegan flavors, and deaf dog-person in Michigan, USA, finds home with youth who is also challenged with hearing loss.

International Organization for Migration (IOM) offers compassionate assistance to communities in Ukraine (Ureign).

Approximately 400,000 internally displaced persons in the Kharkiv region alone are suffering from a lack of electricity, water, heating, and essential items following the Russian invasion. Funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and the European Union, the IOM has delivered 30,000 relief items to five municipalities in the Kharkiv Region. This included bed linen, blankets, mattresses, solar lamps, family hygiene kits, as well as tarpaulin and tool kits to help residents prepare their damaged homes for winter. Anh Nguyen, IOM’s Chief of Mission in Ukraine (Ureign), indicated that the organization recognized the nation’s dire situation and confirmed IOM’s commitment to help all in need, leaving no one behind. The United States is a recipient of five Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, three Shining World Leadership Awards for Good Governance, seven Shining World Leadership Awards for Promoting Healthy Living, and Shining World Leadership Awards for Good Governor, Justice, Protection, and Environmental Protection; and a laureate of 24 Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, three Shining World Leadership Awards for Protection, two Shining World Leadership Awards for Loving Care, a Shining World Leadership Award for Good Governance, a Shining World Peace Leader Award, Shining World Caring Leadership Award, and Shining World Super Loving Care Leadership Award. The European Union is a recipient of four Shining World Leadership Awards for Humanitarianism, two Shining World Leadership Awards for Peace, and a Shining World Leadership Award for Earth Protection; as well as a laureate of two Shining World Leadership Awards for Humanitarianism, and Shining World Leadership Awards for Compassion, Unconditional World Care and True Caring. Our gratitude, United States, the European Union, the International Organization for Migration and all involved, for your compassionate support to all the spiritual and courageous Ukrainians (Ureignians). May the war end soon so they can enjoy peace and happiness in their beloved motherland, in God’s Glory.

New COVID-19 variants show an increased ability to evade immunity.

A recent study by a global consortium of researchers noted that several new COVID-19 variants are showing an increased ability to sidestep the immune system and also treatments, setting the world up for another wave of infections as the weather cools in the northern hemisphere. The Omicron sublineage BA.2.75.2 in particular has evolved with a different kind of spike protein, that binds more strongly to human cells, thus making it more difficult for the body’s defenses to counter the virus. Scientists are predicting 20,500 people in the United States may lose their lives due to the next wave. Such alarming news, researchers, on the ongoing mutation of COVID-19. In Heaven’s awakening light, may humanity soon take a noble path away from the abuse and consumption of animal-people, as we limit the spread of zoonotic diseases and ensure a bright and healthy future. Vegan: become a child again.

Up next, Egypt to export green energy to Europe via undersea cable. We’ll now thank the periodontists or gum specialists who diagnose and treat diseases related to gums and provide dental implants. Please stay tuned to Supreme Master Television for more beneficial news.

Good day, elated viewers, I’m Minh, a vegan environmentalist from the Northern White-cheeked Gibbon kingdom. I spend all day in the forests of northern Âu Lạc, also known as Vietnam, and Laos teaching the local folk how to be better stewards of this lovely Earth. We are grateful to you for your consideration of this too! I have an energy-saving tip for you today. Currently, with inflation at an all-time high, it’s good to reduce costs when you can. Consider filling your washing machine to 80% capacity before you wash a load, versus washing smaller loads repeatedly. Furthermore, if your clothes aren’t stained, wash them at 30 instead of 40 degrees Celsius, as this will lower energy usage by an average of 38%. You could save even more if you wash your clothes at 20 degrees Celsius, which cuts your energy usage by 62%! Love you so much for Being Veg and Going Green 2 Save the Planet for all humans and us all co-inhabitants. Thank you for tuning in, and now for the weather around the globe.

Undersea cable to carry solar energy from Egypt to Europe.

A €3.5 billion endeavor called the GREGY interconnection is being constructed, to bring 3 gigawatts of solar energy from Egypt to Attica in Greece via a massive undersea power cable. One third of the clean energy from the project will be used to power Greek heavy industry, one third will fuel the production of green hydrogen, and the remainder will be exported to Bulgaria and Italy through a shared grid to power millions of households. It is anticipated that the system will be functional for 8 years, and follows a similar scheme between the United Kingdom and Morocco, that provides 10 gigawatts of power. The initiative is being managed by Greek infrastructure investor Copelouzos Group, whose CEO of Renewables, Ioannis Karydas, commented that the less expensive green energy will help “Europe wean itself off Russia's fossil fuels and natural gas.” Way to go, Greece and Egypt, on your sharing of the Sun’s boundless energy. In Divine brilliance, may your cooperation help to spur similar projects, as we switch to climate friendly energy sources.

Australian scientists work to bring native rice to the market.

Charles Darwin University (CDU) researchers are now able to produce three varieties of native rice in the university hothouse, after gathering the grain from flood plains south of Darwin. Species of wild rice grow naturally in the wetlands of Northern Australia and have been consumed by the Aboriginal people for thousands of years. The native rice is shown to have high nutritional content, and the scientists see the project as an opportunity to support First Nations enterprises and address food shortages. The CDU researchers continue to assess the native crop’s cultivation requirements, as they harvest the rice in the university nursery. The group suggested that this wild rice could become an important product for Australian agriculture in the future. Thank you, Charles Darwin University scientists, for your work to bolster Australia’s grain supply. In Celestial delight, may your country smoothly shift to growing highly nutritious crops such as this, as the world moves to a fresh vegan rhythm.

Junior cross-country runner in New York, United States, stops to check in on competitor.

Cooper Kohanski, an eighth grade-student from Liverpool Middle School, was taking part in a modified cross country race, when he heard a boy crying behind him at the finish line. It was Andrew Hawkinson, a Baldwinsville runner, who was a race participant from the other team. It was Andrew’s first race, leaving him out of breath and unable to walk. Cooper got down next to Andrew and told him that he would be okay, along with other encouraging words Andrew eventually was able to get up and the boys celebrated the awesome cross-country run with a fist bump. Wendy Hawkinson, Andrew’s mom, moved by the act of kindness, said, “It just really fed my soul, and I was just really impressed.” Bravo, Cooper Kohanski, for your caring and gracious gesture of sportsmanship. May your actions inspire other young people so that they grow into noble citizens of this world, in God’s nurturing Love. “ISN’T IT FUN 4 U 2 MAKE WAR? NOT ONLY KILLING COUNTLESS INNOCENTS, BUT ALSO DESTROYING EVERYTHING ELSE THAT MATTERS 2 ALL LIVES ON EARTH!!!”

Deaf dog-person finds perfect home with understanding teenager in Michigan, USA.

When Walker Cousineau, 14, of Midland, Michigan, who is hearing impaired, saw a picture of hearing impaired canine-person Dave, who had been living at the Humane Society of Midland County (HSMC) animal-person shelter for about a month, the kind boy immediately knew they were meant to be together. It seemed Dave agreed, as he approached Walker when he and his mom visited HSMC to adopt the sweet dog-person. Mom Mindy said, “We knew we weren't leaving without him.” The animal-people rescuers were delighted with the successful match, since the goofy, loving pit-bull person was a favorite at the shelter. Since then, Walker and Dave have become inseparable, while also serving as ambassadors for adoption of special needs animal-people. What an inspirational friendship! May Heaven bless you both, Walker Cousineau and Dave, as you face life’s challenges together in a manner that profoundly touches those around you.

Let us know if you find this joke of the day witty enough. It’s titled “I Love My Drum set.”

A girl asks her boyfriend:

“How do you like the drum set you got for your birthday?”

“I love it!”

“Why?”

“Because whenever I don’t play it, my dad gives me 10 bucks!”

?!

And now we have a heartline from Grace in the United States:

Your wonderful representatives helped my son and his family in Florida. My granddaughter has a brittle bone disease and had major surgery on September 30. Then, they got hit by Hurricane Ian. You provided a generator and a large amount of cash. This is a huge help to this very vulnerable family. Eternal thanks to you all. Grace from the United States

Appreciative Grace, Thank you for your message. We are relieved to know that your family received the necessary support in times of hardship. Also, we pray that your granddaughter has recovered quickly from the surgery and is now healthy. We thank God for Hiers Mercy and eternal Love. May you, your loved ones, and the munificent people of the United States be forever shielded from all catastrophes. Supreme Master TV team

“Animals feel pain just as humans do. Animals express emotions and may love their offspring and those close to them, not so differently, from the way we do.” ~ The Venerable Radhanath Swami (vegetarian)
